Visit Sydne and Shalice

Over the river and through the woods, or in this case, up the mountain and to the lake! When the season starts to change, I always head off in search of fall. Last winter, I went to Big Bear, so this time it seemed like a good idea to check out the other side of the mountain.

Lake Arrowhead is full of small town charm, cozy cottages and picturesque views of the lake, so there was no shortage of Instagrammable content for Sydne and I. But, I have to admit, my favorite part of our getaway was snuggling up inside our cozy A-Frame cabin that our sweet friend, Shalice Noel, let us rent from her. It had all of the charm of a rustic cabin with luxury updates, like marble countertops and high-end decor. We spent our mornings sipping coffee on the beautiful patio that overlooked the stunning pine trees, and spoiled ourselves with an at-home spa day, complete with Aquis Deep conditioning treatments and fresh manicures. I always love to have my Aquis hair turban on hand when I travel since it dries my hair in half the time, eliminates frizz and doesn’t cause damage that regular towels can. And I don’t know about you, but my hair definitely needs the extra love in the winter months and it’s so convenient that I can pickup my fave Aquis products at Sephora Century City.

When we set out to explore Lake Arrowhead Village, Sydne and I were beyond excited to pull out our favorite fall and winter trends. In LA the temperature rarely drops below 70 degrees, so the opportunity to style out our cozy Mou boots was met with excitement. Naturally, we kept the Après Ski vibe in mind, after all, when in Rome. We strolled around the village and stumbled upon charming restaurants and boutiques that were covered in sparkly Christmas lights, before following the meandering roads back to our little A-Frame for (zero carb!) Kettle One cocktails, cheese and a perfect view of the fireplace.

If you live in LA and are in search of a peaceful place unwind and get a taste of fall/winter, I highly recommend a trip to Lake Arrowhead. I promise that a day of canoeing on a quiet lake and a night spent gazing at the stars, sans city lights, is just what the doctor prescribed. A much needed respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Just bring a girlfriend and some cozy outfits and you’re guaranteed to have a good time.

Thanks so much for visiting me!

Xoxo -E
