I thought this picture was appropriate for the occasion, so I borrowed it from this post.

today, I told myself that I would stop talking about starting a fashion blog
and actually do it. I made it my new year’s resolution and slowly I found my
way in the blogging community. I made a million excuses like not having enough
time to blog or take pictures, and not having anyone to take them for me. I
doubted myself and some days I got really frustrated. Some days I wanted to
give up. But I kept pushing through. I have always loved fashion and styling
and I knew I somehow wanted to be a part of that world but I wondered if it was
really possible for me. I work a full time, corporate job that is completely
unrelated to fashion in every possible way. But I wasn’t about to let that stop
me. My co-worker and I started taking Iphone pictures of my daily outfits on
our break and I slowly started my transition into the world of blogging. The
picture quality was grainy and the photos were rushed, but it was a start.
Finally I transitioned to a digital camera and set it on automatic, before
switching to a DSLR with a tripod. I still use that method today and believe it
or not, I still take most of my pictures on my lunch break. Sure, some days I
get really bummed out about having to take my own pictures and I feel like I’m
not in focus or that the quality could be better. But then, I remember where I
started and I feel proud. Every time I get an e-mail from a reader who has been
inspired I can’t help but feel that all the time I put in to blogging is
totally worth it. I have gotten to work with some of my favorite brands, and I
have had amazing opportunities that wouldn’t have been possible without
starting my little fashion blog. Not to mention how many lovely people I have
met along the way. I am still just a girl with an overstuffed closet full of
clothes, but now, I get to share my fashion journey with all of you. And that
makes me incredibly happy.
I am so
excited to have reached this milestone and I thank you all so much for the
support and for following along. I truly appreciate it. I can’t wait to see
what this year has in store!
