Taking my Makeup From Summer to Fall

When I look up at my calendar and see that we’re mid-September, sometimes I can’t believe my eyes! Summer drifted away so quickly, and as I start to think about my fall wardrobe, I can’t help but think about transitioning so many ofthe other things in my life to accommodate the new season as well. As the leaves start to change, so does my home decor, my skincare routine and even my makeup! My lightweight summer moisturizers get swapped for thicker, more hydrating alternatives, and my soft, dewy, summer makeup gets packed up and stored away in search of something slightly smokier.

In the fall, I love a bold yet feminine eyeshadow looks. The Limited-Edition Mary Kay Foil Eye Shadow Duos are so perfect as I transition my makeup look to the new season. I immediately gravitated toward the “Copper & Pyrite” shades because they reminded me of the colors found in nature. The green was like the beginning of fall, when the leaves were just starting to change. And the gold reminded me of the tips of the leaves after they had long turned brown, and were threatening to fly off of the trees and onto the ground. I applied the darker color on the outside of my eyelids for maximum drama, and then added the gold shade on the inside of my lids for a little extra sparkle. I love that the Foil Eye Shadow Duos are highly pigmented and full of glitter – without the grit! They go on silky smooth and provides a cream-like finish. Another product that I can’t live without this fall? The Limited-Edition Mary Kay Cream Blush Duo Stick! I love any product that saves time and is really portable, so when I discover this blush-and-highlighter-in-one miracle stick, I was immediately intrigued! I opted for the darker Mauve and Shimmer shade, and I couldn’t believe how easily it went on my skin, blended in, and left a hydrating glow! While I may spend hours dwelling on transitioning my fall decor, my makeup is one thing that I won’t be worried about this season.
