Today is my one year wedding anniversary, and the first thing I did when I woke up this morning was look back at the photos from my Italian wedding last year! My husband and I loved re-living the moments of our big day through the photos so I thought I’d share some of our favorite photos with you! When I got married last year, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to share our wedding day with the world, but after a year of enjoying the photos, videos and newlywed bliss, I decided to share them with you all so that you can enjoy them, hopefully as much as we do.

Over four magical days, my husband, Frank and I hosted 82 family members and dear friends at the elegant Villa La Foce set in the hills of the Val d’Orcia.  On Saturday, September 1st 2018, our guests gathered in the Villa’s renowned English garden to witness as we exchanged our vows in a romantic ceremony. Surrounded by white and rose-colored flowers, and inspired by the sounds of a romantic string quartet, I walked down the aisle feeling like a princess in a custom Rminé Bespoke ballgown, while my handsome Frank looked dashing as ever in a classic black tuxedo.  After saying “I do”, we were showered with rose petals and cheers as we strolled through the lower garden – the love and happiness emanating from each of our guests was palpable. I’ll never forget how happy I was in that moment.

We then climbed the stone staircase to the upper garden to search for aperols spritzers. As our guests sipped their custom cocktails, and nibbled on an assortment of hand-passed appetizers, Frank and I snuck off to take photos to capture the moment(s) of our special day. He’s never been one to enjoy taking pictures, in fact he typically fusses at me if I want to take a selfie with him, but he was such a good sport, and a total natural. Our photographer, Cristiano Ostinelli, made pictures so easy and fun and kept us laughing the whole time.

After photos and cocktail hour, we sat for a delicious three-course dinner catered by Galateo. The dinner featured prosecco and regional (bottomless!) red and white wines, paccheri pasta with duck ragout, pork medallions with red onion flan, and sea bass with a vegetable filange. The meal ended with table-side preparation of a traditional Italian mille-feuille wedding cake, which served as both a spectacle and delicious treat.

After dinner, my new husband and I were swept up in a sea of happy partygoers as we danced the night away to the sounds of  “Bel Air”, a nine member London-based band that made the trip all the way to Tuscany for our big day. With a fully-stocked bar, late night snacks and an overflowing desert table, guests lingered until the early morning hours before being shuttled back to their houses.  I’ll never forget my wedding day at Villa La Foce. It was truly a fairytale. And now, I can honestly say that I know what it’s like to be a princess for a day.
