Salty skin, frizzy hair, sandy toes and that warm Mexican breeze. What I would give to teleport myself back to the Viceroy Riviera Maya. Their property was the ultimate relaxation destination. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or just a cool hangout spot for you and your bestie, they’re sure to exceed your expectations and spoil you with first class service. Danny and I spent the days laying poolside sipping strawberry daiquiris and spent the evenings swimming for hours on end in the crystal clear Caribbean Sea. At one point we had to get out of the water because the rocks were starting to hurt our feet and the friendly hotel staff came over and provided us with water shoes so we could continue our sunset swim. Yes, they really have thought of everything. The grounds at the Viceroy left nothing to be desired. Our hotel room was outfitted with handmade soaps, a private outdoor soaking pool, a movie library, and bottomless shots of Mezcal. Is there really anything else that one needs on a trip to Mexico? Oh, right, bug spray! Don’t worry, they have it scattered all over the property so that the only souvenirs you come home with are the ones that you buy in Playa Del Carmen. Danny and I did venture off into town one day but I must say, leaving the Viceroy grounds was difficult. Although there were many shops and cute restaurants in town, next time I think I’ll stay put. Being at the Viceroy was like a dream that I never wanted to wake up from. Needless to say, I’ll be booking another stay with them very soon.
I hope you enjoy this travel post!
