Sure, the 3 hour drive in bumper-to-bumper traffic and the fact that my hair was in a constant state of frizz the whole time that I was in the Hamptons was a bit of a bummer, but the charm of Montauk surpassed all of the quirks that came with it. I always hear New Yorkers talk about “going to the Hamptons”. They do it in such a way that makes you feel like you need to see what it’s all about. They make it sound like this peaceful escape from the craziness of New York City, and that is exactly what it was. Once you get on to Long Island, Montauk seems like a lifetime away (cue the are we there yets!) since it is the furthest east point on the island, but with the never ending drive comes never ending views. Danny, Laura and I spent our days eating Ice Cream and strolling the streets of Bridgehampton and our nights watching the waves crash along the shore in Montauk. This day was by far one of my favorites. There was no one at the beach but us, and you could probably hear the echo of our laughter for miles – perfect for decompressing after a hectic time in the city.

When I close my eyes tightly, I still hear the sound of the Atlantic ocean and feel the sand between my toes. I don’t miss the humidity, but I do miss all of the memories that we made in Montauk.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
