With the changing of the seasons, often comes new wardrobe pieces. Whether you’re heading back-to-school, or just looking for some swanky new threads to wear to work, the Santa Monica Promenade is a one stop shop for all of your favorite fall fashion trends! For today’s post, I’m sharing three Men’s and Women’s looks that are perfect for transitioning to fall.
For the first look, Johnny and I paired one of fall’s biggest trends – military! To soften my look, I paired my Camouflage jeggings with a light pink moto jacket. I kept the rest simple with a plane v-neck and strappy nude sandals. I know that sandals don’t seem practical for fall, but here in SoCal we tend to pull them out from time to time all year round. Maybe we’re just a bit spoiled by our perfect weather?
I added in a studded top handle tote for a bit more visual interest, and a silver and gold pendant necklace to keep things glamorous. For Johnny’s look, I styled his cargo jacket with lots of cozy layers. A three-quarter sleeve t-shirt served as the perfect base for his outfit. I added in a flannel button-down before topping it all off with a lightweight jacket. Of course you can’t have California-cool style without some sleek Ray Bans and a fresh pair of Converse sneakers.
Or maybe you like to keep things extra casual on the weekends…No problem! Tweed shorts are perfect for the season, add in a wool sweater and a lightweight denim jacket for added warmth. A bold scarf in a fun color or print is a great accessory to keep you feeling cozy and stylish. Comfy cardigans are perfect for menswear too! Don’t be shy guys. For Johnny’s look, we kept things monochromatic with light wash denim and paired it with another handy plaid button-down shirt for a pop of color and print.
Last but not least, fabulous work wear is an absolute must! I’ve always been a firm believer in dressing for the job that you want…not the job that you have. So I enlisted the help of this tailored red pencil skirt and styled it with a silky button down and a black and white printed blazer. Statement pumps aren’t just for the weekend! They are professional while also making a look a little unique. I added in a houndstooth pair to complement my jacket.
Guys, you don’t have to feel limited by your work wardrobe this fall. Change things up by adding a brightly colored sweater over your tie and button down shirt. If you’re in a formal office environment, you can still top it off with a blazer to keep your outfit looking professional. Or, if you want to go for more of a California-cool vibe, add in some fresh sneakers.

    1. No they run very small. I usually wear size 2/4 or 26 these are a size 6. The sales girl told me that she has the same issue in their denim. Hope this helps!
